I read this book a few weeks ago and I'm still thinking about it. This was definitely the best book Grisham has written in a while. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying any of his recently released books weren't good. This one was just exceptional! It was up there with "A Time To Kill" and "The Firm".
I was hooked from the beginning. I love a book that instantly sucks me in. We have all thought at one time or another how our jobs are a drudgery. He starts the book off with a lowly law associate at a large firm who is dreading the elevator ride up to his floor for another long day of mediocrity. As he rides up the elevator, he cracks and the book just gets better and better from then on.
Our young associate ends up at a sleazy little ambulance chasing "boutique" law firm. Funnily enough it turns out to be just the place for him. It certainly make his life more interesting.
Grisham can concoct a situation to which it is very easy to relate. I have always been impressed with how well he can play with my emotions. He can have me tearing up from both a sad and a funny situation in the same chapter. I can recall laughing out loud many times as I read The Litigators.
I highly recommend it. You won't be able to put it down!
